Accessibility Statement

Memory Robin is for everyone navigating loss — and that includes people who use assistive technology, have low vision, limited mobility, cognitive differences, or are grieving and exhausted. We take accessibility seriously, and we want to be honest about where we are today and where we are going.

Our commitment

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across memoryrobin.com, and we intend to do the same for Guardian Robin and Pocket Robin when they launch. In plain language that means we are working to make the site:

• Perceivable — clear text, good colour contrast, meaningful image descriptions, and no information conveyed by colour alone
• Operable — navigable by keyboard, with clear focus indicators and no flashing content
• Understandable — plain language, consistent layout, and gentle tone (especially around bereavement content)
• Robust — compatible with common assistive technologies including screen readers

What already works

• Semantic HTML structure with clear headings and landmarks
• Readable colour contrast on body text and primary calls to action
• Scalable layout that adapts to different screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200%
• Keyboard navigation for all main links and the pilot registration form
• Alt text on the key illustrations and the Memory Robin logo
• Plain, non-jargon language throughout

Where we know we can do better

We are a small team at an early stage, and this statement is the honest version — not a marketing one. Known limitations we are actively working on:

• Some decorative images still have empty alt attributes where a short description would be more useful
• Some layouts rely on inline styling that may make further contrast tuning slower than we would like
• The Robin Family interactive cards use click-to-expand; we are reviewing keyboard interaction patterns and ARIA attributes for these
• We have not yet commissioned a formal third-party accessibility audit. This is on our roadmap for the 6–12 months following launch

If something on the site is getting in your way, please tell us — see below. We'll prioritise based on what real users tell us, not what a checklist predicts.

Reasonable adjustments

If you would like to engage with Memory Robin in a different way — for example, you'd prefer to send us a voice note or arrange a call instead of using the contact form — we will do our best to accommodate you. Email us and we'll find a way that works for you.

How to tell us about a problem

If you find something on memoryrobin.com that is hard to use, or you need content in a different format, email info@memoryrobin.com with the subject line "Accessibility feedback". Please include:

• The page or section you're having difficulty with
• What happened, and what you were trying to do
• The device, browser and assistive technology you're using (if you know)

We aim to acknowledge accessibility messages within 5 working days and share a plan for addressing your feedback within 20 working days.

Enforcement and external escalation

In the UK, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing accessibility standards for public-sector websites under the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018. Memory Robin is a private company, so those regulations do not apply to us directly — but we still take WCAG seriously.

Changes to this statement

This is an early statement. We will update it as we fix things, as we add Guardian Robin and Pocket Robin, and as we conduct more formal audits.
